SMC Sheet Cutting Machine
The SMC sheet cutting machine produces PET sheets by axial die casting, which is then rapidly cooled and solidified on the casting roller (commonly known as the cold drum). The SMC unit is a specialized equipment for producing unsaturated polyester glass fiber reinforced sheet molding compound (SMC), which creates a sandwich-structured sheet by continuously impregnating glass fibers with resin paste and covering them with film.
Workflow:
Resin paste preparation (batch mixing or continuous mixing method)
Glass fiber cutting and settling
Double-sided film forming
Resin paste impregnation of glass fibers
Thickening treatment (1-2 weeks of room temperature storage or 48 hours of 40°C heating)
Common Fault Diagnosis and Treatment:
Check for loose power cords and plug contacts
Use multimeter to test socket voltage
Short-circuit test can be done for damaged power switches (with safety protection)
Immediately power off and manually test spindle resistance
Clean guide rail gaps with air gun for dust accumulation (common in aluminum cutting machines)
Monitor temperature changes for three-phase motor phase loss
Check if crossbeam/head is touching limit switch
Push crossbeam 30cm away from limit zone before restarting
Insufficient lubrication of guide rails
Regularly inspect and replace cutting tools
Check the air system to ensure stable pressure
Lubricate the guide rails according to the maintenance schedule
